'They say a summer storm clears the air, and that may be true, but a real storm turns things so about, that they can't be set back the way they were.'

I watched an episode from series one of Lark Rise to Candleford this evening, whilst knitting, and this was the opening and closing saying.

Ah, but although storms can be destructive, they do provide a promising opportunity for rebuilding and making things stronger than before...

After all, you don't knock your whole house down just because a storm took your roof off.

True, true. But what if you discover that the foundations were not as strong in the beginning as you thought they were?

The good side is that you are closer to seeing things truly.

The bad side is realising that ignoring the cracks is not an option.

Yes, in theory this would be the obvious option, but in reality it is that which is creating some of the damage!
